Okay, so you love getting high. I mean really, REALLY love it! And every time you smoke, you’ve got that deep down desire to enjoy a bigger and better high than the one that preceded it.
But how do you make it happen? Here are a few tried and true recipes for success.
Dabs: The Queen of Getting High AF
Two facts you should know:
1. Marijuana concentrates contain extremely high levels of THC.
2. If you heat concentrates to the point that they vaporize, then inhale the vapor, you’ll get one intense high.
And that’s essentially what dabbing is. Dab rigs are the equipment used to make this process possible and while they used to be pretty expensive, today you can get a decent rig for a fairly modest $100.
If your experience with weed has until now been limited to rolled joints, an occasional blunt, or awesome batches of brownies, now might be the time to push the envelope with dabs.
Blowback
Don’t do this one alone. Actually, that’s silly advice. You can’t do it alone. Find a friend–preferably one you can cajole easily–and have him put the lit end of a joint between his lips.
Then take the unlit end of the joint in your mouth and blow air into it. Sounds weird, doesn’t it? But it works. The greater force of air going into the lungs of your friend on the receiving end will be sure to give him an increased high.
Gravity Bong
Have you ever wondered how long weed stays in your body from one hit? Maybe not. But it’s safe to bet you wish you could get really, really high from that single hit. A gravity bong can help make that happen.
It’s also something you can make on your own easily enough. All you need is a plastic bottle and a pail of water.
Just pack a smoking bowl at the top of the bottle and cut a hole in its bottom, then slowly lift the bottle out of the water while you inhale. The concept is pretty simple.
By creating a vacuum, it forces the smoke from a hit into your lungs a whole lot faster than the traditional way. Which makes for a super quick high.
Switch Up Your Strains
You’ve probably heard it a million times from old stoners. Pot from the 70s was nowhere near as strong as it is today.
How much weaker was it? We’re talking in the neighborhood of only 1 percent THC.
It’s common today for most weed strains to have 10 to 15 percent THC and often a lot more, in some cases exceeding 30 percent. Popular examples include Bruce Banner #3, which has tested at close to 30 percent, and Godfather OG which has seen 34 percent.
If you’re going to switch things up, just be sure to do it at least semi-regularly. This way your body doesn’t get too accustomed to one type of strain.
And don’t hit yourself too hard too fast. Build your tolerance incrementally.
Grow Your Own
Watch the news much? It seems like every year another state passes a law legalizing medical and/or recreational weed.
That’s nice. But most legislatures aren’t doing it to make you happy. They’re looking at the potential profits.
Red or blue states aside, governments love tax revenues. It’s why they slap those big excise taxes on top of the already high sales taxes you have to pay for your weed. That sucks.
Grow your own, though, and you won’t have to worry about it. You don’t even have to know that much about it–what with the simple all-in-one grow kits you can find online.
Half the time you can just toss a few seeds in a corner of your garden and let them go. Just take care that no male plants get into your mix, lest your crop be ruined by weed seeds in your nugs.
Intensify Your High with Mangoes
This tropical fruit isn’t just delicious. It’s packed with myrcene, the most plentiful type of terpene found in marijuana plants.
And like other terpenes, when combined with THC and other cannabinoids in weed, it creates a better, more enhanced effect than you’d get from them separately. It’s what’s called the “entourage effect.”
The only catch is that you need to eat your mangoes at least 45 minutes before you smoke. This will give it time to work through your digestive system.
The time is just right and you’re sure to enjoy the experience a whole lot more.
Food that Helps Get You Really Stoned
Okay, so you’re not big on mangoes. That’s cool.
Though mangoes almost always top the list of any what-foods-will-get-me-higher playlist. But we get it.
We won’t push them on you. Besides, there are other foods that will also do the trick.
Foods rich in omega-3s and healthy fats will also help to enhance the experience. Why omega-3s and healthy fats?
You may not know it, but THC is fat-soluble, so eating foods rich in healthy fats (like nuts) will help the cannabinoids become more readily available to your body. They give THC something healthy to latch onto.
Then there are also foods that are rich in antioxidants–like coffee, tea, and broccoli. Yes, you read it right. Broccoli. Your mother was right when she told you it was good for you.
Chocolate will give you a higher high, too. Chocolate is good for just about everything!
Edibles
Our mentioning chocolate last wasn’t accidental. It’s the perfect segue to edibles, especially when brownies come out on the top of every edibles list.
Why brownies? For one, they’re delicious. Plus, they’re easy to make. And, oh yeah, they can get you really high without subjecting your lungs to a harsh smoke.
When baking with weed, the key ingredient is canna-butter. This is simply regular butter that has been infused with marijuana.
All you need to do to make it is to simmer your weed at a constant temperature in butter (or oil) and then strain the weed out. That heating process is what activates the THC.
Once you’ve made your canna-butter or canna-oil, the sky’s the limit on the goodies you can make. Think brownies, cookies, breads, and cakes. Yum!
Not into baked goods? Gummies are another great edible choice.
Mix Marijuana with Other Drugs
It’s not uncommon to want to beef up your high by mixing weed with other drugs like magic mushrooms or simply with alcohol, but there is any number of risks. For example, mixing marijuana with alcohol can increase the likelihood of experiencing a green out, a situation where the receptors that control your appetite, memory, and bodily functions become overwhelmed.
As a result, you may experience chills or sweats, dizziness, a lack of mobility, an increased heart rate, or nausea and vomiting. And that’s probably not what you were counting on.
If you still have your heart set on mixing it up, go slow and make sure you have a trusted friend with you.
Exercise
We all know a healthy metabolism is good for you, but did you know it’s also good for getting high? Exercising before getting high gets oxygen to your blood cells.
It also raises your blood pressure. And these two things help make it easier for your body to process THC. So if you want to enjoy a bigger high, then before you light up get in a little workout on that treadmill first!
Why Do Bongs Get You Higher?
When you use a bong, the lit weed you smoke is inhaled up through the water and chamber. As a result, the smoke you ingest is way smoother. And that smoother experience allows you to take more smoke into your lungs.
You get a bigger hit and therefore a greater high.
Get Really Stoned by Taking a Tolerance Break
If you’ve ever had to take a break from weed for a month or so to pass an impending drug test, you know how great that high feels after you’ve gotten through it and passed with flying colors.
If you have the fortitude to fast from weed for a solid month, definitely give it a try. Guaranteed, you’ll be flying high the next time you light up.
What’s the Most Efficient Way to Smoke Weed?
Believe it or not, there is quite a bit of debate on the subject, and it all comes down to a few personal factors–how you most enjoy consuming weed (for example, by a bong, joint, blunt, or vape pen to name a few), your smoking technique, and your overall experience with marijuana.
Joints and vape pens are certainly easy to carry and use on the go, so that makes them pretty dang efficient in our book.
On the other hand, bongs are a very efficient tool as they allow you to inhale more smoke with each hit.
However, if you’re looking at total THC inhalation, then dabs are definitely the most efficient option. Then again, dabbing requires some equipment and if you don’t really know what you’re doing, it can be a waste.
When you come right down to it, the best way to find out what’s the most efficient way to smoke weed–at least for you–is to try a variety of methods and use them long enough to get proficient at it.
Better Marijuana. Better Marijuana High
It should go without saying that the better quality marijuana you use, the better the high you will enjoy. Quality marijuana can be recognized by its generally green color, potent aroma, and plentiful trichomes.
Beyond that, today’s growers can create high THC strains that ensure an intense, wicked high. If you want to get really high, do your research and look for high THC strains that will give you the most bang for your buck.
What’s the Healthiest Way to Smoke Weed?
Accept it. You’re never going to see smoking touted as a good health regimen. Whether you smoke cigarettes or weed, you’re drawing bad things like carbon monoxide and tar into your lungs.
You can, however, mitigate the negative effects of smoking in a number of ways such as filtering out harsh chemicals through water by using a bong. Also, be sure to clean your equipment regularly.
If you prefer to roll your joints, you can find a number of FDA-approved, additive-free wrappers online that are safer to use.
Lastly, if you don’t grow your own, then be sure to buy from a trusted grower, preferably one that practices organic growing methods free of harmful chemicals.
